Are you a New User or a Contractor who needs to update your settings on NECTA? This post will show you how to do just that! Changing your settings allows you to tailor the Necta Platform to your specific needs, which in turn improves your experience and productivity and increases your potential job matches. So let’s get started!
Many people overlook the importance of having an up-to-date profile on Necta. Your profile is one of the first things that people will see when they search for candidates, so it’s important to make a good impression. Fortunately, keeping your profile updated is easy – and it can make a big difference in the way you’re perceived by potential connections. Start by ensuring that your Name, Job Title and LinkedIn URL are all accurate and up-to-date. Updating your profile picture is a great way to put your best foot forward and make a great first impression. When updating your profile picture, be sure to choose an image that is professional and represents you in a positive light. Then, take a few minutes to write a brief “about me” section that gives visitors a snapshot of your professional background and expertise. By taking these simple steps, you can ensure that your Necta profile makes the best possible impression when matching you with potential employers.
Updating your Basic Contractor Profile Settings is Simple and Easy in Necta. When on your Contractor profile page – simply press the edit button in the top right hand corner (see: orange box in image) then use the pop up to update the relevant details and save.
Your Qualifications and Education play an important role in landing you the job you want. It is essential to keep your profile updated with your most recent education and qualifications to ensure that you are matched with potential employers who are looking for someone with your specific skillset. Additionally, including your qualifications and education on your profile shows potential employers that you are dedicated to continuously learning and growing in your field. Whether you are just starting out in your career or you are looking to make a change, keeping your education and qualifications up-to-date is a crucial step in finding the right job for you.
To update your Education or to add more Qualifications navigate to your Contractor Profile. Scroll down to your Education and Qualification section and press the Edit button to the right (see: orange box in image) then use the ‘Add More’ function in the pop up. When adding a New Record please provide the Name of the Qualification, the Provider, as well as the completion dates and Country of Provider before saving.
On your Basic Contractor Profile will be a list of any previous employment experiences, alongside a summary of each position and your responsibilities in the role. Previous Jobs and Work Experience help potential employers get an idea on what kind of candidate you are, how you may benefit them and adding them to your profile will help you to be noticed and placed on to Job Shortlists.
Listing the Companies and Dates of Employment, as well as a summary of your responsibilities, will help us get an idea on what future opportunities may suit your interests. These can easily be added on to your Profile Page using the edit button to the right of the “My Experience” section (see: orange box in image) and utilising the Add More function.
As you build your career, it’s important to continuously add new skills and capabilities to your profile. This not only makes you more marketable to potential employers, but also helps you keep up with the ever-changing landscape of your industry. Adding new skills to your profile is an essential part of career development and is simple to do within Necta.
To add new skills to your profile, navigate to your Settings Page (Profile > Settings) and press Add More within the Skills and Capabilities section (see: orange box in image).
Your Future Preference settings are easily updated from your settings page (Profile>Settings).
It’s important to set your minimum and preferred hourly rate in order to keep a pay band that suits you. This way, when we match you with job opportunities, we can be more effective in finding the right fit for you. You can also choose the traveling radius from your home that you are willing to travel, if you have selected Office or a Mixed Work Policy. On Necta, we have hiring managers searching for Permanent or Fixed Term talent, so if this is of interest to you, make sure to set up and update your preferences accordingly.
On Necta, instead of references and referrers, we utilise Testimonials. These can be linked to your engagements and experiences and contribute to our AI, increasing your chances of matching with engagements suited to your skills.
To add a Testimonial to your profile, navigate to your Settings Page (Profile > Settings), enter in the contact details of the person you wish to get a testimonial from, they will be sent an email prompting them to supply the Testimonial and update your profile.
These testimonials are only visible to future employers and there is no limit to the number of testimonials an individual contractor can have.
It is important to upload the correct documentation when setting your Visa type (Work Visa, Permanent Resident, Aus/NZ Citizen) on Necta to give you authority to work. Depending on your Visa type, you may need to upload an MOJ Check or an Identification Check. By uploading the correct documentation, you will be giving your employer the information they need to confirm that you are authorized to work in their country.
Within this location (Profile > Settings), we also have an option to upload a copy of your CV. Uploading a CV in this location will update your Profile with the relevant details and may overwrite any manual entries you have made.
