Are you looking to start working as a Contractor on the NECTA platform? This guide will walk you through the process of setting up your profile and getting started. Contractors are an essential part of the NECTA ecosystem, and we’re glad you’re considering joining us! Let’s get started.
Creating an account is the first step in setting up your profile as a Contractor on NECTA. Click the “Create Account” button in the bottom left corner of the contractor sign in box, and fill in your email address and nominated password*. Be sure to provide accurate information, as this will be used to verify your identity and credentials and agree to Nectas Terms and Conditions.
*Passwords must be at least 8 characters long, they must also contain at least 1 lowercase, 1 uppercase, 1 number and 1 special character.
When you sign up for Necta, we’ll send an email with a verification code to your nominated email address. Once you have entered in the code, your account will be created and by providing just a few more details you will be able to access all the features of the Necta Platform.
When you first sign up for Necta, we’ll ask to verify your email address by typing in the password that was assigned when creating the account. Once verified and logged into our system with these same personal details, there are still some things left unfinished before completing our profiles – like providing education and experience information, and a copy of your resume or CV.
Necta is always looking for ways to save you time and that’s why the first screen you will see after signing in to your Necta profile will allow you to upload a copy of your resume or CV. You can do this at any time within your profile settings – but by uploading it initially, Necta can quickly extract relevant information and update your profile – saving you from manual inputting all your experience and education.
In order to complete your basic details, just provide a few pieces of information. This includes the name you want people to know you as, as well as what title or job function you primarily engage in. You will need to complete your current company and employer as well as provide a short ‘about me’ to help people get to know who you are. You are able to link your Necta Profile with your LinkedIn account directly by providing the web link here.
Please provide a current contact phone number and your primary working location. This will only be used to match you with jobs in your geographical area – we do not share any personal details with any third parties.
Your education and qualifications are very important. They should all be listed here so we know what you’ve accomplished! Provide the name of any awards or degrees won, Provider (school/university), country where it was received and the Commencement and End (if applicable) Dates. If you have uploaded your CV in step 4 you may notice these fields already completed for you – these can be manually updated and edited at any time, as well as adding new qualifications and education, via Profile Settings.
Whether it’s your first job or not, you’ll want to include any work experience and previous jobs in order for potential employers to get an idea on what kind of person they’re getting themselves into. List the companies and dates of employment for each position as well as a summary about what your responsibilities were in that role to help us get an idea on what future opportunities may suit your interests.
The tags and skills capabilities will help you to have a more efficient and effective experience with finding Jobs on Necta. A great way for employers to identify potential candidates are by identifying and searching for someone with these additional abilities and skills ie; quality assurance, testing, system process mapping. By adding these to your profile you can increase your chances of finding the right engagement.
Set your minimum hourly rate and preferred hourly rate to keep a pay band that suits you when matching with job opportunities. Not everyone wants to work from home or full-time in an office, so under the policy, adjust what you want and if applicable, choose the traveling radius from your home that you are willing to travel.
Make sure that you set up preferences to help us be more effective in finding your future. We do have hiring managers searching for Permanent or Fixed Term talent. As such we have added additional options for you to choose if this is of interest to you
Testimonials can be added at any time. These act in place of references and referrers – It is best to link them to the engagements and experiences you have completed earlier as they will have a larger attribution to the AI. When you are ready, and have entered your contacts details press Next to complete your profile set up. An email will be sent to your contact and when they respond with your testimonial, it will update your profile and show to future employers. There is no limit to the number of testimonials you can have.
Once your profile is complete, you’re ready to start matching with potential employers and connect with job opportunities that suit you. We wish you luck in your contracting future and we look forward to working with you on NECTA.
