We provide water and wastewater services to 1.7 million people in the Auckland region. In Papakura, we provide bulk services to Veolia Water, which manages the local community’s network and retail services. Our testing facilities, Watercare Laboratory Services, monitor and test drinking water and wastewater for over a third of New Zealand’s population.
The Product Owner is responsible for developing ambitious, compelling products, maximising the value of the product and the work of the development team by bringing together users and stakeholders. A drive towards a deep understanding of customers, digital opportunities, Watercare's value proposition for its products, and the technology context and strategy required to differentiate those products in the marketplace. The product owner will contribute to a vibrant community of product owners to ensure shared skills and business knowledge development. Shares a common, customer-centric culture and applies common methods to drive excellence across the products.
Provides leadership and develops and maintains a product vision and market strategy. Ensures business change planning, impact assessment and business change execution activities occur in relation to your product. Continuously gathers feedback from and sets expectations with all relevant stakeholders. Actively supports squads, by being available to clarify and prioritise work and being active within sprints. Gathers and uses data/analytics/user research to make decisions. Find incremental improvements in existing processes and activities to build product features. Reporting on work delivery performance in terms of business outcomes, capabilities and risk mitigation. Drive real-time measurement across the pulse of digital and the product delivery organisation. Produce, define and manage the full product roadmap for products within agreed business domain to end of product life. Analyse and make sound decisions to maintain roadmap which ensures your products deliver the digital benefits and vision captured in the digital journey maps. Maintain the currency of the product feature backlog and ensure it aligns with release objectives and your roadmap • Proactively prioritise features and stories for sprint and release planning • Backlog of features and stories defined and refined so that it is always current with the next 3-6 months of features prioritised. Develop and enhance the ways of working and product owner practices across Watercare • Ensure iterative value delivery and speed within the cross functional teams • Applies technical expertise when required to support team members and delivery. Fosters a high performance team culture, which drives engagement of all team members to achieve business, personal and professional development objectives • Keeps allstakeholders appropriately informed, resulting in a reduced volume of escalations and backlogs
