Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our bespoke rollforming machinery manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing production processes, ensuring quality control, managing a skilled team, and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced, highly technical manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a blend of technical expertise, operational efficiency, and strategic thinking to support the growth and success of the company.

Responsibilities

  1. Production Management:
  • Working with the Production Manager help manage all aspects of the rollforming machinery production process, from design and fabrication to assembly and testing.
  • Help develop and implement production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality, customized rollforming equipment.
  • Monitor production efficiency, output, and quality standards, identifying and addressing any bottlenecks or areas for improvement.
  1. Team Leadership & Development:
  • Manage and mentor a cross-functional team of engineers, technicians, production staff, and support personnel.
  • Provide guidance, training, and professional development opportunities to enhance team performance and morale.
  • Ensure effective communication between departments, fostering collaboration to achieve organizational goals.
  1. Quality Control & Compliance:
  • Establish and maintain robust quality control processes to ensure the final product meets or exceeds client specifications and industry standards.
  • Work closely with the quality assurance team to address any issues related to product defects, failures, or process inefficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental policies, and industry certifications.
  1. Supply Chain & Inventory Management:
  • Oversee inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods to meet production demands while minimizing waste and excess stock.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely sourcing of materials and manage vendor relationships.
  • Working with the Procurement Manager, Optimize the supply chain to reduce lead times and costs while maintaining high-quality standards.
  1. Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement:
  • Drive initiatives to improve production processes, equipment performance, and overall operational efficiency.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies to identify and implement cost-saving and efficiency-enhancing solutions.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational performance and make data-driven decisions.
  1. Client Interaction & Customization:
  • Work closely with the engineering and sales teams to understand client requirements for bespoke machinery and ensure that production meets specific technical and functional needs.
  • Provide input into product design, ensuring manufacturability and cost-effectiveness while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Occasionally interact with clients to discuss project timelines, technical specifications, and production progress.
  1. Budget & Financial Management:
  • Assist in the development and management of the annual operations budget, ensuring cost control while maintaining the quality and performance of the production process.
  • Track operational expenses, labor costs, and overhead, working to meet financial targets without sacrificing quality or customer satisfaction.
