Description

Large global consultancy working across a new large programme of work with a focus around innovation, digital transformation and adoption of Gen AI.


Leads a team of people with the same or similar skillset that are working across different squads. The Chapter Lead is responsible for people management, drives consistency across the squad, coaches their team, and contributes to decisions around allocation of resources. The Chapter Lead also spends some of their time working in a squad

Responsibilities

Designing and enforcing work standards


• Create and develop a competence.

• Define work standards in the competencies at all levels and ensure these are executed. People Management

• Support chapter members.

• Develop and train chapter members to build common capabilities.

• Set up interaction and knowledge sharing processes within a chapter.

• Act as a thought leader within area of expertise to guide, motivate and inspire chapter members.

• Coach employees, drive collaboration, help to remove roadblocks and create opportunities for them to grow.

• Recruit and source talent to grow the chapter.

• Participate in regular meeting of Product Owner, Chapter Lead and Agile Coach (POCLAC) and Squad performance review.

• Lead performance reviews of Chapter members, including identifying opportunities for promotion.

• Prepare decisions for Tribe Lead to take on chapter employees in consultation with relevant Squad members.

• Resolve organisational issues of chapter members. Key items within area of responsibility

• Work standards within the Chapter. • Role descriptions.

• Feedback and review of people management processes

• Contribute to QBR (Quarterly Business Review) planning, Tribe Retrospective and POCLAC.


Skills

• Is a subject matter expert. Recognised widely as a specialist within subject area of the chapter.

• Experienced in developing and implementing methods and standards.

• Experience working on cross-functional projects.

• Experience in leading a team.

• Strong communication skills to teach and convey messages in a professional form.

• Proven skills in coaching squad members in the areas of performance, standards and work methods. • Visible passion for subject area, participation in domain activities and groups, ability to organise related events.

• Belief in a non-hierarchical culture of interaction, transparency and trust in squads.

• Openness to new ideas and desire to develop them together.

• Ability to create atmosphere of trust, inclusion, curiosity and continuous learning. Role Dimensions

Technica Skills: Software Engineering – Back end (Java, Spring Boot, Domain Driven Design, Microservices, RESTful APIs, Kafka, persistence including SQL)
