Description

If you can hit the ground running when it comes to all things operational HR and are looking for a challenging role where you can make your mark, then this is the role for you!

We have a fantastic fixed term opportunity, from now until 30 June 2025, for an experienced and motivated People Delivery Manager to lead and drive our HR Administration and Advisory functions. You will be leading the team and our suite of operational HR services for staff both in New Zealand and offshore.

2024/25 will be another busy year for this team, and to ensure success we need the guidance and support of an experienced People Leader and technical HR professional. We are looking for someone who is proactive and innovative, with the energy and capability to take the team to the next level. Specifically, you will be tasked with:

  • Leading the People Delivery team and ensuring a focus on service delivery excellence and relationship management.
  • Overseeing the provision of Operational HR advice, coordination, and administrative support.
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities for process and system improvements.
  • Creating a high performance and development focused culture.
  • Building and maintaining a team that is capable, enabled, engaged and empowered to deliver.
  • Actively building the brand and profile of the People Delivery team (and wider People function).

Responsibilities

We'd like to hear from you if you are an experienced Operational HR Manager with the following skills and experience:

  • A degree in Human Resources, employment law or an equivalent qualification from a related field; or equivalent level of experience working in an ER/HR leadership role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor and inspire a small team
  • A depth of technical HR and employee relations knowledge.
  • Ability to influence and persuade at all levels within an organisation, including outside of direct reporting lines.
  • A flexible attitude that means you can turn your hand to whatever is needed.
  • A Customer centric mind-set and approach to problem solving.
  • A proven track record of building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Keen eye for detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • A continuous improvement mindset.

Ideally you will also have a good understanding of tikanga (Māori customs and protocols), with the ability to weave te ao Māori (the Māori worldview) into your work. If you are just starting on this journey that's OK too - as long as you have a willingness to learn and a desire to develop your cultural capability. As a Te Tiriti o Waitangi partner, this is important to us and we offer training and support.
